Taylor Defends Titles With Shutout Points Victory

This past Saturday, September 4th, the undisputed Lightweight champion and Irish legend, Katie Taylor, dominated the ring and successfully defended her titles against American fighter, Jennifer Han (18-4-1), at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, UK. Taylor immediately took the lead, wearing her opponent out and finally knocking her down with a short left hand in the 8th round. The judges were all in agreement that Taylor was the winner of each round, awarding her a shutout points victory. She currently holds the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO belts, and an unbeaten record of 19-0.


Bridges Edges Gangloff in Close Decision

On the Taylor-Han undercard, Aussie Bantamweight fighter, Ebanie “The Blonde Bomber” Bridges, stepped into the ring for the second time in the last month, this time taking on the highly skilled Mailys Gangloff (5-3-0) of France. At the end of an 8-round battle, and despite having incurred damage to her right hand early on, Bridges came out victorious, narrowly defeating Gangloff on points, and improving her record to 7-1.


Granados Valiant in Tough Loss

Also on the Taylor-Han undercard, American veteran Welterweight Adrian Granados (21-9-3) lost by unanimous decision against British native, Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (19-0-0). Granados put up a good fight over the course of the 10-round bout, but Benn came at him relentlessly, and ultimately landed the most punches. Despite this loss, Granados remains a tough contender for anyone in the division, and always fights with a ton of heart!


Castillo Preserves Unbeaten Record

In a 10-round fight on Sunday night, Lightweight prospect Starling Castillo preserved his unbeaten record, winning by unanimous decision over Mexican veteran fighter, Juan Carlos Burgos (34-6-2), at The Armory in Minneapolis. Castillo’s record is now 16-0, with 12 wins by way of knockout.
