Lightweight Prospects Rivera and Castillo Score Big KO’s

Two up-and-coming lightweights scored impressive, highlight-reel knockouts during their latest ventures into the squared circle. Twenty-three year old Michel Rivera, whose current record sits at 21-0 with 14 KO’s, took out Jon Fernandez (21-2, 18 KO’s) during their 8th round in the ring this past July 3 at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson. As it stands, Rivera has won 4 of his last 5 fights via KO. Check out his latest one here →

On July 9 in Los Angeles, Starling Castillo (15-0, 12 KO’s) defeated Miguel Contreras (11-1, 6 KO’s) in their 2nd round, landing a huge, straight left hand from the southpaw stance! Twenty-five year old Castillo has now won 4 straight KO’s, each within the 2nd round of fighting. Watch his last KO here →

Also on the card, Azat Hovhannisyan (20-3, 16 KO’s) won his sixth-straight fight, this time defeating Jose Santos Gonzalez by UD in a 10-round, junior featherweight bout.

Meanwhile, lightweight Javier Fortuna and light-heavyweight Sullivan Barrera came up short in their respective bouts this past Saturday. Nonetheless, both men fought valiantly, and we are proud to count them in the Rival Family!

Congratulations to all, and thank you for choosing Rival!
